On
Saturday, January 15, 2005, the Service
Squad pursued their latest endeavor
to make a difference. This event was
to reflect on the life and legacy
of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther
Kind, Jr. The United Methodist Outreach
Ministry (UMOM) in Phoenix hosted
the event at their New Day Center.
Thwenty-five
volunteeers from Arizona Federal
were present to assist the children
in activities such as Loteria (Spanish
Bingo), planting seeds, decorating
African masks, making dreamcatchers,
blowing up balloons and a cake walk.
The children also enjoyed stories
and ended the afternoon with pizza,
cake and reflections of the day. Plenty
of fun was had by all!
Arizona
