Phoenix, Ariz. – In response to the Asian disaster, Arizona Federal will partner with Save the Children to raise much needed funds to meet the needs of children in the hardest hit areas. All of Arizona Federal’s 20 branches in Maricopa County and Tucson will accept donations. Arizona Federal members will be able to directly transfer funds to a Save the Children donation account, but all are welcome to visit their branches and make a donation. For a list of branches, please call 602-683-1000, or visit www.azfcu.org.

“Even before the press began to report on the plight of children in the wake of this disaster, we knew there was going to be a strong need to come to the aid of the youngest victims - that is why we elected to partner with Save The Children ,” said Laura Lowe Edgar, director of community services for Arizona Federal.

Save the Children is the largest independent humanitarian organization creating lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world. Save the Children is urgently seeking support for its Asia Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund, which will allow the organization to quickly implement relief, protection and reconstruction efforts for children in affected areas.
