Arizona Federal holds first-ever Shred-a-thon
Thousands of pounds of paper, documents securely destroyed in one afternoon
(PHOENIX, AZ) – Arizona Federal Credit Union held it’s first-ever “Shred-a-Thon” at three branch locations throughout the Valley on Saturday, April 28. Members showed up throughout the afternoon, and in just over four hours, filled 70 secured bins of paper, totaling 11 tons.
“Members repeatedly expressed their satisfaction with the event,” said Tricia Drexel, Community Services Supervisor. “People were constantly asking when we would be doing this again,” Drexel said.
The need to help members shred documents with sensitive information is at an all-time-high. The State of Arizona routinely ranks highest in cases of identity theft, according to Attorney General’s office.
Arizona Federal is one of the state’s largest credit unions with more than $1.7 billion in assets, 220,000 member accounts and 25 Arizona locations. Arizona Federal focuses on its members by making it easy for them to do business and offering them a wide variety of financial services. Arizona Federal is also dedicated to providing financial education and playing a positive role in the community.
